The Africa Institute of Micro Enterprise Development (AIMED) is a professional enterprise development institution dedicated to empowering private, public, and social sector organizations to achieve meaningful impact. We partner with clients to drive transformation in ways that are most significant to them, embedding innovation, new thinking, cutting-edge technologies, and fresh ideas into their core processes and mindsets. Our mission is to build capabilities that enable individuals and organizations to thrive in an ever-changing landscape.

We believe in creating a better world through collaborative models and systemic approaches, resulting in a more enriched future for all. AIMED serves clients at every organizational level, acting as trusted advisors to top management and hands-on coaches for frontline practitioners. We work alongside our clients to implement recommendations and provide long-term support, helping to develop workforce skills, drive operational improvements, and adopt new working methods. Ultimately, AIMED’s services are designed to positively impact incomes and strengthen household economic resilience.

Combining global expertise with local insights, we help clients turn ambitious goals into reality. We offer a comprehensive suite of technical assistance services, including the development of innovative training content, methods, tools, techniques, and supporting materials for vulnerable communities, disadvantaged students, and organizations involved in community-based microfinance, rural finance, and enterprise development.

AIMED provides certified and accredited training courses through a blended approach (online and classroom), catering to both experienced professionals and emerging practitioners. We utilize the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) approach in course and content development, incorporating Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Training Design (TD), Content Development (CD), Implementation, and post-training Evaluation of Behavior Change (EBC).

Recognizing the importance of addressing cross-cutting issues, AIMED is committed to mainstreaming Gender, Equality, and Social Inclusion (GESI), safeguarding, disability, and advocacy within our service provision. We achieve this through dedicated capacity-building training and technical support, ensuring that our services are inclusive and impactful.
